Smash Hit is a surreal first-person shooter. The player must run as far as possible by smashing obstacles with metal balls. The music is synchronized with the gameplay - every movement of the player and every new stage of the level is reflected on the soundtrack. Multiplayer is available. Initially the player has 25 balls to throw. When their number drops to zero, the race ends with a loss. Special pieces are scattered throughout the levels, and when collected they give bonuses like infinite time balls, time dilation, or explosions.

There are two modes for multiplayer fans. "Confrontation" is implemented as a competition. The one who loses all the balls first loses. "Cooperation" is aimed at achieving records. Players share a pool of balls, and collisions with obstacles remove balls from both gamers' accounts.
