Defense field (flying drones, damage-absorbing bubble).

And the hero will be a bit stronger and more survivable. With 5-6 of these upgrades, you can charge into the thick of things and make a bloody mess. Saw the enemy, cut him, blow him up with dynamite, set him on fire, and trample him until new, stronger ones come to take their place. And after them, the bosses!

Before you know it, Godzilla's corpse will be crawling out of the ground, or a mechanical robot symbiote will be falling from the sky (show me all 125 bosses!). These monsters seem to have escaped from the lab: they look ugly, act deadly, and are extremely resilient. Killing just one of them will give you tons of experience and hundreds of gold coins.
